I have a skin condition called Psoriasis. How it occurs is when a person's immune system mistakes normal skin cells for pathogens and makes to much skin. If you have Psoriasis you are more likely to have strokes, inflammation of joints (arthritis), the pain can cause problems with common things such as sleep and walking, it may cause diseases like hypertension, heart failure, type 2 diabetes, and depression. Some believe that stress is a leading factor to the severity of the patches. Psoriasis looks like an inflamed patch of skin with flakes of skin called scales or plaques. There is no treatment for it, occasionally it goes away but, its not common. Most of the treatments are ointments and soaps the treatment I'm going to try next is a UVA light or tanning booth.
I have patches all over my scalp, that are mistaken for dandruff, behind my ears, on my neck,on my chest, my shoulders and I think I found another patch on my leg. Psoriasis feels like poison oak and a sunburn all at once, and if you itch it to much the inflamed skin begins to bleed and occasionally rot. I tend to shake my hands or legs to avoid itching but I'm really bad at not itching my scalp and behind my ears. This is the major reason I don't like people touching my hair or face and why I don't do my hair all fancy. My Psoriasis is also the main reason I cut my bangs; it had begun spreading to my forehead and its very embarrassing. My skin condition has caused me to be bullied more than once.
I think that people shouldn't judge people just because of certain things such as dandruff or other things. Just by looking you don't know a persons story and the reason behind things. I think that judging people is a horrible thing to do.

I wanted to tell someone about this and during the past few months I've been telling some kind people about it now i'm telling everyone about my Psoriasis on the internet -_-.
You are very brave. Thanks for sharing this information.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I am considered one of those "kind people". Also, I'm glad I know how to spell it now. I've been trying to search for information about it for a while now, but I kept coming up with some weird stuff!
